Ben Davis
Coaching Staff
Coach Davis started his tenure as
Head Coach and Director of Wildcat Aquatics in September,
2007. Ben came to Wildcat from the Birmingham Swim League in
Birmingham, Alabama and has been a Head Coach since 1982. The
Birmingham Swim League was awarded the United Swimming Club
Excellence Program Silver Medal Club the past three years he was
there.
Coach Davis spent nine years
as the Head Coach and Program Director of BSL. He also served
on the Southeastern Swimming Board of Directors for nine years and
as General Chairman for two years. Ben currently serves on the
Kentucky Swimming Board of Directors.
Before Birmingham, Coach Davis
coached the Tualatin Hills Swim Club in Beaverton, Oregon
where his team won the Oregon LSC title every year he was there and
won the Northwest Region title seven times. Ben has coached on four
United States National Teams and coached the 1996 Turkish Olympic
Team. He has been awarded nine Awards of Excellence from the
American Coaches Association.
Coach Davis has sent over eighty
swimmers to the Junior Nationals and over fifty to the National
Championships. Twenty two of Ben's swimmers have qualified for the
U.S. Olympic Trials. Ben's swimmers have represented the United
States at the Olympic Games, the World Championships, the Goodwill
Games, the Pan Pacific Games, the European Championships, and the
World University Games.
